Susan Boyle saw Paul O'Grady just last week, and she "never would have thought" it was a "goodbye".
The 61-year-old singer - who shot to fame on the third series of 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2009 - has paid tribute to the late star, who died on Tuesday (28.03.23) evening aged 67, describing him as a "kind, funny, and great friend".
She shared a picture of herself and the 'For the Love of Dogs' presenter, and wrote: "Paul, you were one in a million, kind, funny, and a great friend.
"When I saw you last week in Edinburgh, never would I have thought this was goodbye.
"Sending love to Andre and your family. I will miss you."
Several other stars have paid tribute to Paul, including Lorraine Kelly and Piers Morgan.
Lorraine wrote on Twitter: "Such sad news. Paul O’Grady - funny, fearless, brave, kind and wise. Will be sorely missed. A really special man."
Piers tweeted: "RIP Paul O'Grady, 67. A wonderfully warm, mischievous, hilarious guy with a sublime natural talent for broadcasting and making people laugh."
Former 'Countdown' co-host Carol Vorderman joked Paul would no doubt be "already giving them raucous, ripping up the rulebook, mischief making, calling it out, loving hell in heaven".
She added: "Paul, what are we meant to do without you?"
Paul's partner Andre Portasio confirmed in the early hours of Wednesday morning (29.03.23) that the TV presenter had died.
He said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.
"He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion.
"I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years."
