Suranne Jones is most looking forward to going for a walk with her family and her two dachshunds on Christmas Day.
The 'Gentleman Jack' star's favourite thing about the festive season is spending quality time with her screenwriter husband Laurence Akers and their six-year-old son, and she can't wait to take a Yuletide stroll with her pair of pooches, and if it is snowing then that would be even better.
In an interview with OK! magazine, she said: "The best thing is just playing with my son on Christmas Day and us all taking our dachshunds for a Christmas walk. There’s something really special about it.
"I don’t remember the presents so much, more the time spent with my parents and the things we did. It’s those small moments of connections that are truly priceless.”
This year, Suranne is starring in festive comedy 'Christmas Carole’, which is inspired by Charles Dickens' 1843 ‘novella A Christmas Carol’.
In the modern take on the Christmas classic, the 44-year-old actress' character Carole Mackay is a greedy, outspoken entrepreneur that makes her fortune selling cheap festive goods, which has earned her the titular nickname, even she actually despises the Christian holiday.
The ‘Doctor Foster’ star was thrilled to take on the Ebenezer Scrooge like role because it is a show that her son can watch her in, unlike the many gritty dramatic parts she plays.
Suranne said: “I’ve never done a Christmas film and I’d always wanted to tick that off as an actor, so it was a no-brainer. Also, none of the roles I’ve done -even ‘Doctor Who', because it can be quite scary – are appropriate for my six-year-old. So he’s at a great age for this and I wanted to make something for him.
“He knew when I went away filming that I was kind of doing it for him to be able to see. So that was nice.”
'Christmas Carole' will air on Christmas Eve (24.12.22) at 8pm on Sky Max.
