Suranne Jones is set to star in a new thriller.
The 38-year-old actress has agreed to portray the female lead Claire alongside 'This is England's Stephen Graham - who will play a troubled alcoholic called Nelly Rowe - in a forthcoming series titled 'Gone' on Sky Atlantic.
The show, which is set in and around a south London housing estate, follows Nelly (Stephen) as he battles to prove his innocence of a horrific crime and teams up with his former lover Claire (Suranne) in a bid to find the real culprit.
Sky have also ordered a final series of the crime drama 'The Tunnel', which stars Stephen Dillane and Clémence Poésy as French police detectives Karl Roebuck and Elise Wassermann respectively, and will focus on the idea of tighter border control following the recent Brexit vote, which saw the UK withdraw from the European Union.
Sky drama boss Anne Mensah told The Sun newspaper: "I'm really excited about these two brilliant dramas coming exclusively to Sky Atlantic.
"'Gone' exemplifies the originality we aim for, while in 'The Tunnel: Vengeance' we return to our incomparable English and French detective duo."
It looks like Suranne has a busy year coming up as she's currently gearing up to shoot the second installment of the highly popular drama series 'Doctor Foster'.
However, she recently admitted that she was initially opposed to the idea of another installment, in which she plays a doctor called Gemma who is left devastated when her husband cheats on her with a younger model, because she didn't know where to take it.
She said: "I've read episode one and I'm due two and three. At first I didn't know whether there should be a series two but then I wanted to look at the aftermath of a divorce as I don't think there's been any of that on TV..."
