DC television crossovers are now something expected, but what many weren't sure about happening is characters from DC shows on The CW combining their efforts with Supergirl, as CBS picked up her series, a completely different network.

When the news was announced that The Flash would be stepping into Supergirl's territory, fans went wild and now that very episode is right around the corner.

Melissa Benoist who stars in Supergirl in the titular role said of the crossover: "It is the most joyous occasion to have these two superheroes together in the same place, at the same time, working together. They are both so happy with their powers and what they get to do and how they get to help people, that it's kind of infectious and exciting and upbeat and happy."

Dropping in from an alternate universe, The Flash offers Supergirl help in battling a pair of powerful enemies in exchange for her aid in sending him back to his own universe.

Mehcad Brooks does note that there will be some jealousy creeping in for James Olsen when Barry Allen arrives, explaining: "We have this little rivalry, because he's a superhero, too, and kind of hitting on my girl a little bit. I'm like, 'Damn you, Barry'."

Supergirl continues Mondays, 8pm on CBS with The Flash returning on March 22 at 8pm on The CW.
