'Coronation Street' actress Sue Devaney gets star-struck when she gets to shoot scenes with the soap's legends.
The 54-year-old actress returned to the ITV soap as Debbie Webster in 2019 after more than 30 years away from Weatherfield, and she admits her favourite thing about being back in the series is getting to share screen time with the likes of William Roache who plays Ken Barlow and Sue Nicholls who portrays Audrey Roberts.
In an interview with the new issue of Inside Soap magazine, she said: "I've got a scene coming up with Audrey soon! I'm very excited but I've got to stay professional - I'll just go back to my dressing room and bounce around with excitement.
"We've been brought up with these actors, haven't we? So it's really lovely to work with them. When I first had a scene with with William Roache, I had to ring my friend and say, 'I'm doing a scene with Ken Barlow!' I was chuffed."
Sue will now be sharing lots of scenes with Ben Price and Jane Danson as her alter ego Debbie is running the Bistro with their characters Nick Tilsley and Leanne Battersby, and Sue admits it's been great to get to film with Jane, 42, because she has so much respect for her as an actress.
Discussing whether the trio's business arrangement will lead to Debbie and Leanne becoming friends, Sue said: "I don't think Debbie mixes business and pleasure, and she doesn't let many people in. But I have to say that it's been lovely working with Jane Danson. I've loved her work for years so it's nice to do some scenes with her."
Sue has signed a deal to stay on 'Corrie' until at least April 2022 and she hopes that Debbie - who is the younger sister of mechanic Kevin Webster - keeps on causing trouble on the cobbles.
She said: "I hope that she gets more outrageous - and carries on rocking the boat!"
