Gorka Marquez was rushed to hospital and put on a drip after falling ill.
The 31-year-old professional dancer - who regularly features on BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – was taken to Fairfield Hospital in Manchester just days before Christmas, but he was monitored closely by doctors and was given the all clear and sent home after 24 hours.
He took to Instagram on Thursday (16.12.21) to share a series of photos from his overnight stay in hospital.
Gorka - who has two-year-old daughter Mia with ex-‘Hollyoaks’ actress Gemma Atkinson, 37 - joked that Gemma thought it was just an excuse to get out of wrapping Christmas presents.
He wrote: "I was looking forward for Christmas at home but that was interesting 24h in hospital,
"Gemma thinks it was a excuse to avoid all the wrapping of the Christmas presents… Everything is okey and I am back home having cookies and cuddles of my little nurse.
“Thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at Fairfield Hospital for being so lovely to me. Feliz Navidad!!! (sic)”
Gorka did not reveal the nature of his hospital visit, but in the series of snaps one photo shows him perched up on a bed attached to an IV drip.
A follow-up picture sees Gorka posing in bed with a half-eaten sandwich.
Friends and fans were quick to flood the comment section to send him their well wishes.
Gorka's former ‘Strictly’ celebrity partner Katie McGlynn wrote: “Noo! Hope you’re okay. (sic)”
