Giovanni Pernice wants a family one day.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro - who has been romantically linked to George May Foote, Jess Wright and Maura Higgins - revealed gets grilled by his mother “every time” he has a new love interest on the go amid his breakup from fellow pro Jowita Przystal.
The 32-year-old dancer told Anton Du Beke on their new show, ‘Anton and Giovanni: in Sicily’: “My mum always says to me, ‘so what is the situation.’
“You know, because obviously, every time I date a girl I always tell her and ask, ‘ what do you think about this.’
“Bless her, she saw so many passing by and she asks, ‘is this the one?’ and she says, ‘You know I want a baby before I pass away.’ Of course, I want to have a family one day, you know. I just have to find the right person first.
“I’m just very focused on my career as you were at my age. I always say it as a bit of a joke, but I mean it, when I grow up I want to be Anton Du Beke.”
In response, Anton - who was a professional on the BBC One star-studded Latin and ballroom competition before joining Craig Revel-Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse on the judging panel last season - reassured Giovanni would find someone eventually on their travel show that will air on Tuesday.
Gio added: “I do get lonely sometimes, there’s no one share it with. It’s a tricky thing, a fine line.”
Anton - who has six-year-old twins George and Henrietta with his wife Hannah Summers - gushed that anyone would be “lucky” to have Giovanni, whose celebrity partners have included ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ judge Michelle Visage, ex ‘EastEnders’ star Rose Ayling-Ellis and and ‘Good Morning Britain’ anchor Ranvir Singh.
The 56-year-old dancefloor veteran said: “Whoever it is you end up with, they will be lucky to have you.”
