'Strictly Come Dancing' bosses are said to be considering pairing Katie McGlynn up with Giovanni Pernice.
The former 'Coronation Street' actress is among the celebrities who have signed up for this year's series of the Latin and ballroom show, and it is thought pairing her with pro dancer Giovanni - who she was romantically linked to in 2017 - would be a "dream ticket" for the forthcoming series.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper: "The show’s bosses always strive to pair up pros and celebrities likely to have the most chemistry.
"In that respect, Giovanni and Katie are an obvious choice.
"But they have to consider if that could have the knock-on effect of making life so difficult outside of the rehearsal studio that it might impact on their performances."
The 28-year-old actress was romantically linked to Giovanni - who is now dating former 'Love Island' star Maura Higgins - in 2017.
At the time, there was speculation Giovanni and Katie - who played Sinead Osbourne in 'Corrie' - had been on a romantic night out.
But the star later denied she and Giovanni - who had recently split from former 'Corrie' actress Georgia May Foote, who he partnered in the 2015 series of 'Strictly' - were an item.
Katie posted a picture on Instagram alongside her best friend Lee Bennett, and she added the caption: "The only guy I'm dating atm #gbf #mirrorball (sic)"
Last month, Giovanni and Maura - who previously dated her 'Love Island' co-star Curtis Pritchard, the brother of former 'Strictly' pro AJ Pritchard - confirmed they were in a relationship.
The 30-year-old star captioned a snap of the pair posing by the beach: "I’m yours."
Giovanni also shared a sweet picture of him and the Maura nose-to-nose at dinner, and he wrote: "You're mine", along with a black heart.
