The City of Pasadena is helping celebrate The Big Bang Theory's 200 episodes milestone, providing the hit comedy series with an honorary street designation which will be installed in the coming weeks near Pasadena City Hall.

Following the recent proclamation that today (February 25) would be The Big Bang Theory Day within the city's limits, the news that the street would be named after the show - Big Bang Theory Alley - came a little later.

Pasadena Councilmember Andy Wilson commented: "The City of Pasadena is proud of its comedic and scientific association with The Big Bang Theory.

"Pasadena was already known throughout the world for having the foremost astronomers, chemists and scientific thinkers who do very serious work here, but thanks to The Big Bang Theory, being smart in Pasadena is now fun too."

The show will air its 200th episode tonight on CBS in the US, where the gang will celebrate Sheldon's birthday.

Special guests include Christine Baranski, Sara Gilbert, Adam West and Wil Wheaton.
