Steve Aoki is the first judge to be confirmed for 'Ultimate DJ'.
The 'Boneless' DJ - who is famous for throwing cakes at people in the crowd at his gigs - has been hired by music mogul Simon Cowell as the first member of the judging panel for the new show, which is described as 'The X Factor' of electronic dance music.
The show is set to launch on Yahoo Live later this year with up and coming DJs competing against one another in a bid to win a recording contract with Sony Music and a headline spot at a major music festival.
However, a number of other DJs have already spoken out against the show, with Fatboy Slim claiming he turned down the chance to be a judge before the show was even confirmed because he thought it was a "terrible idea".
He said previously: "Simon Cowell was talking about doing a show and everyone in the business, he kind of started approaching us, and we were like, 'Fuck off, no - that's a terrible idea!' That's the good thing about dance music; it grows organically through drunk people late at night coming up with stupid ideas. It's not something that can be scripted or transported into a TV studio."
'Ready For Your Love' hitmakers Gorgon City - who are made up of the duo Matt Robson-Scott and Kye Gibbon - also agreed, admitting they think it's a "bad idea".
Kye said previously: "There are different sides to what DJ-ing is. You've got people like David Guetta or Steve Aoki, where it's all about this kind of superstar thing. But when we play, it's all about the music.
"We take a step back. We want to be a silhouette in the dark."
