Stephen Mulhern was accidentally booted in the face when a stunt went wrong on his new game show 'Go For It'.
The 39-year-old host was left with a bruised cheek after a contestant attempted to kick a rugby ball off his head but missed and ended up hitting him hard just below the eye.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: "We had this girl on -- she's a karate expert and she kicked 30 American footballs off 30 footballers' heads.
"I didn't believe she'd do it and made the mistake of saying to the crew that I'd let her kick a ball off my head if she did.
"When she won, I had to put a helmet on and she actually kicked my face. It really hurt. The whole right-hand side was all red, because she kicked so hard and fast."
'Go For it' is a six-part series which aims to uncover the nation's weirdest and most unique skills, such as being able to identify 30 types of wood based on smell, and then put them to the test to be in with a chance of winning £1000.
Meanwhile, although he has landed his own game show and has also hosted the spin-off 'Britain's Got More Talent' for nine years, Stephen still doesn't feel completely fulfilled.
The funnyman is desperate to land a role in 'Coronation Street' and is hoping his friend Bradley Walsh - who played Danny Baldwin for two years until 2006 - can help him.
He explained: "I'd love to be on 'Coronation Street'. I've spoken to Bradley about it. So many people think Bradley is my dad, by the way. I've had so many people come up to me in the street saying it. I shouldn't have really mentioned it -- he hates it. I asked him what it was like to be in it.
"It's quite nice to see a fellow performer and presenter who can do both. You can ask me anything about 'Coronation Street' -- I just love it."
