Stephen Fry is set to host a 'Jeopardy!' reboot.
The US game show is returning to the UK and the 65-year-old star will host the 20-episode series on ITV1 and ITVX.
He said: "In the United States, 'Jeopardy!' is a phenomenon like no other. Whenever I’m in America, I do my damnedest to catch it every weekday.
"The idea of hosting it here in the UK makes me dizzy with delight. Such a dedicated quizzing nation as ours will, I hope, welcome this uniquely beguiling and endlessly rewarding game."
Katie Rawcliffe, the head of entertainment at ITV, is thrilled that Stephen has agreed to host the reboot.
She said: "Bringing 'Jeopardy!' to a brand new audience as part of our weekday schedule is exciting. There is no one better to host this classic game show than Stephen, bringing knowledge and entertainment to all of our viewers."
British versions of 'Jeopardy!' previously appeared on UK TV screens between 1983 and 1984 on Channel 4, on ITV from 1990 to 1993 and on Sky One from 1995 to 1996.
Sunil Patel - the CEO of Whisper, which is producing the show - is now excited to "introduce 'Jeopardy!' to a new generation of ITV quiz fans".
Looking forward to the new series, Sunil said: "I can’t think of a more perfect pairing: an iconic American quiz show and the legendary Stephen Fry.
"It’s an absolute thrill to introduce ‘Jeopardy!’ to a new generation of ITV quiz fans, with its unique twist on the traditional question-and-answer format where viewers can play along at home."
'Jeopardy!' begins this autumn on ITV1 and ITVX.
