'Celebrity Big Brother's 'All Stars vs New Stars' will be an "explosion of fun and loud personalities" with plenty of "fireworks" when it returns to screens in January.

Bosses of the popular programme have decided to shake things up for the forthcoming series by inviting a string of familiar faces back to the infamous abode next month to spend three weeks cooped up within four walls with a number of new celebrities.

A spokesperson for the Channel 5 told BANG Showbiz in a statement: "As always the identities of the housemates are top secret, but we can confirm that this series promises to be an explosion of fun and loud personalities which are sure to cause fireworks... in fact, everything you love about 'Celebrity Big Brother'!"

Emma Willis will return to host the series as the cameras capture all the drama and shenanigans taking place in the house, which has been given a colourful makeover.

And she isn't the only friendly face making a return as Rylan Clark-Neal has also agreed to front the spin off 'Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On the Side', which will air weeknights after the main show, as he's joined by a variety of celebrity panellists and an audience of 'CBB' fans to debate hot topics and reveal juicy exclusives.

Although the contestants are yet to be confirmed, it's believed former 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional James Jordan - who was known for stirring trouble when he took part in the programme in 2014 - has agreed to return to the infamous abode.

A source said recently: "Channel 5 approached James with a six figure deal.

"The producers loved how feisty he was when he appeared on 'Celebrity Big Brother' in 2014 and they know he won't hold back."

And he's not the only one being lined up for the programme as reality TV couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, who took part in the series in 2013, have also scribbled a mega-cash contract for the show, as has Angélique 'Frenchy' Morgan.
