Annabel Giles has died at the age of 64.
The TV presenter - who started her career on children's show 'Razzmatazz ' in the 1990s before going on to front ITV's 'Posh Frocks and New Trousers' with Sarah Greene - had been diagnosed with a brain tumour in July and passed away on Monday (20.11.23), her children Molly and Tedd have announced.
On Tuesday, they wrote on Instagram: "It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our incredible mother, Annabel Giles, who passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon at Martlets Hospice in Hove.
"In July, Mum was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma, a fast-growing and highly aggressive malignant brain tumour.
"In the four months that followed, she displayed remarkable resilience and strength, despite undergoing brain surgery and countless radiotherapies.
"In her final weeks, she was passionate about raising awareness for Glioblastoma, embodying her lifelong commitment to helping others."
Molly and Tedd went on to pay tribute to their mother - who was married to Ultravox singer Midge Ure from 1985 until 1989 - as a "one-of-a-kind" woman and requested that, instead of flowers, mourners make a donation to Martlets Hospice in Brighton and Hove for the "exceptional care" they had given to Annabel in her final months.
They added: "Mum was truly one of a kind, an enigma to those privileged to share her life. True to her nature, she kept spirits high and maintained her quick wit until the very end. Her humour and laughter will leave us inspired to live life to the fullest, just as she always did.
We thank you for your love and support and kindly request that you respect our privacy at this challenging time.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we would be grateful for donations to Martlets Hospice, whose exceptional care was a great source of comfort throughout this journey."
Throughout her career, Annabel had appeared regularly on 'Noel's House Party' and 'Through the Keyhole' before becoming an author, publishing three novels in the early 2000s.
In 2013, she appeared on the 13th series of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' alongside 'Emmerdale' actress Lucy Pargeter, 'EastEnders' star Laila Morse and eventual winner Kian Egan of Westlife fame.
Annabel's former co-presenter Sarah Green led the celebrity tributes following the news,
Alongside a snap of lit candles, she wrote on X: "I absolutely know he’d want to share the light with darling La Giles this evening… so Annabel, they’re for you too, with love, Greenebottome XX."
Former 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant Krishnan Guru-Murthy remembered his former colleague as being "so funny, clever and gorgeous" whilst comedienne Jenny Eclair said she had the "fondest memories" of working with Annabel.
