Stacey Solomon will front Reese Witherspoon’s new Channel 4 home improvement show, ‘Brickin' It'.
The ‘Sort Your Life Out’ presenter is to host the new lifestyle show which is being brought to the small screen by the ‘Legally Blonde’ star’s production company Hello Sunshine - which has developed a number of hit programmes like ‘Big Little Lies’, ‘The Morning Show’ and the hotly anticipated ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ - for the British broadcaster, which could propel Stacey to a career in America.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column, a TV insider said: "This is huge news for Stacey and proof of her growing status in the TV world.
“To be on Reese’s radar is mightily impressive and her company was adamant they wanted Stacey to front the new show.
“This could lead to even bigger jobs across the pond if she impresses, so Stacey is chuffed to be on board.”
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist - who is eight months pregnant with her second daughter with her ex 'EastEnders' star husband Joe Swash - is “so excited” to be helping households ripped off by cowboy builders with her arsenal of DIY tips to solve the problem themselves on a budget.
Stacey said: “From an early age, my dad taught me DIY and the importance of fixing things yourself where you can.
“I still find it so satisfying to build or repair around the house and it saves loads of money.
“I am beyond excited to work with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine on their first ever UK project.
“They are all about empowering women, and what could be more empowering than a power tool.
“It’s a dream come true to share my DIY hacks with everyone at home.”
Channel 4 is now inviting home owners with building issues to apply to appear on the show at Channel4.com/4viewers/take-part/brickin-it to get help with their projects.
