Sophie Thompson has won 'Celebrity MasterChef'.
Actress Sophie Thompson triumphed in the BBC cooking competition, and admitted it felt "ridiculous" to have been named the winner of the TV contest last night (18.07.14).
Speaking after her victory, she said: "I can't Adam and Eve it! Thank you so much, this has been the best fun.
"It's ridiculous winning something like this."
The star overcame tough competition from Jodie Kidd and Charley Boorman in the final, which was described as "incredible" by judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Sophie was delighted with her big win, saying the whole contest has been "mad".
She added: "It's M for mad, the whole thing's been mad. I feel so thankful to all the people who's recipes I've used and abused, the 'MasterChef' team have been proper fantastic."
For her winning meal, she prepared duck stuffed with juniper berries as a starter, followed by a main of even roasted brill flatfish, while it was rounded off with a steamed cherry pudding for desert.
Gregg Wallace said: "Sophie's food is very much like her, it's original, it's individual, it has a style, it's different.
"She creates some absolute delights on a plate, they look like little stories to me; they just look amazing."
