Sophie Ellis-Bexter's son told her not to "embarrass him" on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The singer has nine-year-old Sonny with her husband Richard Jones, and their boy was fine with her appearing on the TV competition providing she didn't show him up.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "He said I could do it as long as I didn't fail.
"Failing meant leaving first and happily I have got past that crucial moment. I'm so glad I didn't embarrass him."
The 'Murder on the Dancefloor' hitmaker - who also has sons Ray Holiday, one, and four-year-old Kit with The Feeling bassist - revealed her family have been incredible supportive of her time on the show thus far.
She explained: "We've all done those mother chats where you tell them it's about giving it your all and trying your best, which is always good enough.
"Well, now I can hear it all coming back at me. Sonny tells me I've got to be confident and enjoy it. It's unbelievably sweet."
And despite the nature of the show placing its contestants in very close, personal positions with her professional mentors, Sophie insisted her rocker husband had no issue with her taking part.
She added: "Richard was really supportive from the outset. It's a once in a lifetime thing, really."
