The 'Wait and Bleed' singer is a massive fan of the sci-fi series and agreed to lend his famous vocals to the Doctor's enemy, the Fisher King, in the episode 'Under The Lake', which airs on Saturday (03.10.15).

Corey, 41, wrote on Twitter: "You have NO idea how hard it's been to keep this awesome secret...@DoctorWho_BBCA (sic)"

The unlikely cameo was arranged when Slipknot played a gig in Cardiff - where 'Doctor Who' is filmed - earlier this year and the rocker bumped into the show's producers.

They later invited him to take a tour of the set and took the opportunity to record Corey's scream during the visit.

Meanwhile, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actor Peter Serafinowicz will provide the monster's speaking voice while the character is played on screen by Britain's tallest man, at 7ft 7ins, Neil Fingleton.

Last year Foxes performed a version of Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now' in the episode 'Mummy on the Orient Express'.
