Sir David Attenborough has been voted UK’s favourite presenter of all time.
The 96-year-old TV veteran has graced the screens since the 1950s and enjoyed a glistening career that has spanned eight decades.
The naturist, broadcaster and historian won the nation’s hearts as a documentary narrator inspiring the modern format of nature documentaries.
The media personality came out on top according to a recent poll which revealed he won 28 percent of the vote out of the 30 household names that made up the list.
David has written, produced and narrated hundreds of natural history documentaries throughout his life including ‘Life on Earth’, ‘The Private life of Plants’ and ‘Planet Earth’ and those who took part in the survey explained that the quality of being "genuine" is what makes a "great" TV host, while just over half of them claimed that presenting has become a "dying art."
Hot on the heels of David was the late radio legend Sir Terry Wogan - who died in 2016 at the age of 77 following a battle with cancer - whilst the late Sir Bruce Forsyth came in third, almost five years after the 'Strictly Come Dancing' host passed at the age of 89.
The rest of the Top 10 was made up of the likes of Eurovision host Graham Norton, 'Blind Date' legend Cilla Black, eight years on from when she was found dead in her Spanish holiday home aged 72, as well as multi-NTA award-winning duo Ant and Dec, and '8 Out of 10 Cats' star Jimmy Carr.
