Simon Cowell is set to change the rules for 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent' next year.
Simon Cowell has hinted at a change in the rules for 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent' next year after having a "light bulb moment".
The music mogul has decided to switch up the talent shows in an attempt to boost ratings after having a "light bulb moment" a couple of weeks ago.
Writing on Twitter today (19.12.13), he said: "Next year on our shows the rule change. I had a light bulb moment two weeks ago."
The 54-year-old star is remaining tight-lipped on his ideas and is yet to announce which of his programmes will be affected.
However, Simon is set to make a return to the UK version of 'The X Factor' after the show once again lost out to prime-time rival 'Strictly Come Dancing in the ratings war.
Meanwhile, judge Louis Walsh believes Simon's return to his flagship UK show in 2014 will make the rest of the panel work much harder.
He previously said: "I think it will be good when Simon comes back next year because he always makes everyone work harder. He wants more, more, more. He wants more viewers, he wants a bigger production, he wants more talent. It's exciting."
