A much-needed boost will be given to The X Factor by Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh has said.
The ITV competition's longest-standing judge thinks the music mogul's grand return to his flagship UK show in 2014 will make the other panellists work much harder.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "I think it will be good when Simon comes back next year because he always makes everyone work harder. He wants more, more, more. He wants more viewers, he wants a bigger production, he wants more talent. It's exciting."
Simon is hoping to bring 'The X Factor' back to its former glory after the programme once again lost out to prime time rival 'Strictly Come Dancing' in the ratings war.
The reality show pulled in 11 million viewers on Sunday night (15.12.13) as fans tuned in to watch Sam Bailey beat Nicholas McDonald in the final.
The prison warden's rendition of Demi Lovato's 'Skyscraper' - her winner's single - brought judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne to tears.
Sam tearfully said: "In the time that I've been in this competition I've grown not only as a person but in my music. There's one person that's been so inspirational and that's [mentor] Sharon Osbourne. I love her to pieces."
