Simon Cowell thinks Bruno Tonioli is having more fun on 'Britain's Got Talent' that he did as a judge on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Show supremo Simon, 63, has joked that Bruno, 67, wished he'd had a “big red buzzer” to use when he spent 18 years on the BBC One ballroom competition instead of his "boring" scoring panel, as the chorographer makes his debut on the ITV1 talent contest alongside Simon, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
The former 'X Factor' star said: “When you’re doing 'Strictly', all you’ve got is a bat or something, right? That’s boring.
“This is a punctuation mark, which is the red buzzer. He was like a kid having these things to press while he was judging.”
"There’s a few celebrities he would have liked to have buzzed off, I bet.”
Bruno was replaced by Anton Du Beke on 'Strictly Come Dancing' after he was unable to film one series to his commitments to the US version of the programme ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and his travel schedule and that change was made permanent, giving Bruno the opportunity to replace David Walliams as a judge on 'BGT'.
The flamboyant dance expert recently revealed he made a major faux pas by prematurely pressing the prestigious Golden Buzzer on his first day of audition filming.
Explaining how his mistake happened, he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I told Simon, I never watched the show before. But I never watch anything I’m in, I never even watched 'Strictly' or 'Dancing With The Stars'. I want to feel free to give it my own personal spin, not copy what someone before me has done, if that makes sense."
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who are the hosts of 'Britain's Got Talent', gave their seal of approval to Bruno, insisting he is more than a worthy replacement for David.
Ant said: "Bruno knows a lot about music and gives very good notes to acts when they come on. We've only ever seen him judge dance before, so he has a wider range than people might think."
Dec added: "He's been around the entertainment industry for a long time, so he's not short on experience. He's very knowledgeable about talent and obviously very passionate as well. There was a lot of standing up and shouts of ‘Daaaahhhling!"
