Sian Reese-Williams has confirmed she has left 'Holby City'.
The former 'Emmerdale' actress has bowed out of the BBC medical serial after her character Jodie Rodgers was sectioned on last night's (16.02.21) episode, after her unborn baby tragically died.
Sian wrote on Twitter: "Thanks, Holby. I had an absolute blast [waving emojis]."
Former Dales star Mark Jordon was quick to congratulate Sian on the role.
He tweeted: "You smashed it"
Jodie's baby sadly died following her car accident - and the 39-year-old star didn't have much luck when it came to motors in her former role as Emmerdale's Gennie Walker, who was killed off in 2013 when she was in a car crash and then suffocated by evil character Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).
Last month, Sian admitted starring in 'Holby' had "saved [her], mental health-wise" amid the coronavirus pandemic, and she described her role as "a gift".
She said: "'Holby' has really taken me back to the camaraderie of my 'Emmerdale' days actually, and playing Jodie has been a gift.
"Truthfully, I was really delighted to be working during lockdown, and I'm not ashamed to say that it really saved me, mental health-wise.
"I know all sorts of people who have been struggling in many ways recently, and I was certainly one of them.
"'Holby' couldn't have come along at a better time for me."
Sian recently admitted that during the first national lockdown, in March last year, there were times when she questioned why she ever left 'Emmerdale'.
She said: "There were times during that first lockdown where I was like, 'God, why did I have to leave 'Emmerdale'?' [laughs].
"That said, I love the variety of the job, and it's certainly been the best thing for me - so I'm grateful to 'Emmerdale' that they threw me down a hill and suffocated me."
