The 'Benidorm' star has been single since she divorced her husband Ken Boyd in 2011 and, although she'd love to bag herself a new man, she's struggling in the romance department because she's worried about skills in the bedroom.

Speaking on 'Good Morning Britain' on Thursday (23.02.17), she said: "I wouldn't have anybody in my toilet. And then you've got all that taking your clothes off. I have been on my own for so long, how do you let someone else in to your house? And still keep the light on? You can't take your clothes off at this age!"

The 66-year-old actress can see similarities between her and her bolshie alter-ego Joyce Temple-Savage, a role she's portrayed in the ITV comedy since 2012, because she thinks her upfront "bossy" personality scares people off on the first date.

She explained: "She's a victim of her own circumstances. She's very bossy and she can turn any man away because of the bossiness. Because she's been on her own for so long, she's willing and she's looking but then she bosses them about.

"I think Joyce is the same. It's the fear as well. When you have been on your own for so long you don't know how to. You lose what you used to have.

"I would love to have someone's arms around me for a kiss and cuddle. But a dog is the best way because you've got the snuggles without the talking."

Sherrie was struck a blow late last year when she was forced to come face-to-face with her former flame Ken - who cheated on her numerous times throughout their two-decade long marriage - at their daughter Keeley's wedding in October.

She said recently: "I think it's been 16 years. I should've seen him the night before, sat down and said: 'Hi, how are you?' and get that bit done and we were both walking her down the aisle so I walk round the corner and he was there.

"Within one minute we were walking down the aisle. But sadly, it back footed me ... this was unbelievable, I didn't show it because it was my daughter's wedding and it was the most glorious day of my life. When I went to do the speech, I didn't know where I'd gone. All the memories came back - all the bad times.

"We didn't really speak because there was no point. He stayed on for two days and I was with all the family but I didn't really interact. I didn't mention him in my speech."
