It may have been a long wait, but Sherlock series 4 is right around the corner, and the BBC continue to tease fans by today releasing two of the three titles for the upcoming batch of new episodes.
Taking to the Sherlock social media accounts, the network revealed that episode one of the new series would be called 'The Six Thatchers', whilst its follow-up would be named 'The Lying Detective'. A title for episode three was not given.
Fans are now speculating as to what the episodes could be about, with many concluding that the first episode could be a new rendition of Sherlock Holmes story 'The Six Napoleons'.
In that story, a criminal destroys Napoleon busts in a bid to find a hidden black pearl - could we see Maggie Thatcher's bust destroyed come series 4's debut?
The second episode meaning may be a reference to story 'The Dying Detective', where Sherlock pretends to be caught up with a deadly illness due to poison, in a bid to catch murderer Culverton Smith.
Just how closely these episodes will follow those stories - if at all - is still yet to be seen.
Sherlock series 4 comes to BBC One in 2017.
