Both series four and five of Sherlock have already been planned out.
The show creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have confirmed the next two series for the detective drama have already been "plotted out", and have made a promise that they'll deliver like never before.
Speaking to the audience at the Bafta screening of the final episode of series three, 'The Last Vow', yesterday (08.01.14), Steven said: "Rather excitingly, Mark and I, for no particular reason, we just got out of the rain and sat at the top of the production bus ... and we just started plotting out what we could do in the future.
"And we plotted out the whole of series four and five."
However, the pair have some sneaky ideas up their sleeves for the future of Sherlock Holmes - who is portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch - and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman).
Steven explained: "So we have got plans - but our plans don't tend to be, 'Let's blow up the world or cast the most famous person in the world,' they tend to be, 'What exciting twists and turns can we add to this?' And I think we've got some crackers!
"The ideas we had that day, I thought were the best we've ever had."
The final episode of series three airs on Sunday (12.01.14) on BBC One at 8:30pm.
