Shayne Ward wants to stay on 'Coronation Street' for 20 years.
The 30-year-old pop star is set to make his soap debut as Aidan Connor next week and he is hoping he is a hit with viewers so he can stay in Weatherfield for a long time.
He said: "If they want me for the next 20 years, I'm here. I'm now part of one of the most iconic shows on TV. It's amazing. I'm living the dream."
Though he has only been on set for a few weeks, Shayne is loving every minute of filming.
He said: "It's been amazing. I've been filming for a few weeks now and it feels so great to be part of the cast. Everyone has been so welcoming - they've really made me feel relaxed on set. I'm having a great time."
And while he is excited at being in 'Corrie', the former 'The X Factor' winner is devastated that the British Soap Awards are scrapping the Sexiest Male prize as he would have loved to have scooped the honour.
He told OK! magazine: "I've just been told they're stopping the Soap Awards' Sexiest Male category! I was like, 'What?' Just to have been nominated for that would have been brilliant."
