Shayne Ward "had a bit of a breakdown" when he filmed his last 'Coronation Street' scene.
The 33-year-old actor and singer - who plays Aidan Connor on the ITV soap - has teased that his departure from the show, which will air later this year, is one of the soap's "most shocking exits".
He admitted to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: "I had a bit of a breakdown when I filmed my final scene. It's one of Corrie's most shocking exits."
Whilst a source added to The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Nobody will see this coming. Viewers are going to be absolutely stunned. It's going to be a blow for the fans - but also a massive TV moment ... Everybody wants Shayne leaving to be a huge part of the show next year. Bosses are working on it at the moment and have something really explosive planned for the character."
Meanwhile, Shayne previously blamed the Manchester-based soap canteen's Fish and Chips Friday deal for boosting his size since he first stepped foot on the cobbles in August 2015.
He said: "I will miss it when I leave but it's not done favours for the dad bod. The canteen has a really great menu but then it also has really naughty food. Put it this way - it's your choice, but then if you eat from the naughty menu you've got to make sure you don't put weight on, which is what happened to me really. Fish and chips Friday is on every single week and they have lots of sweet food like hot chocolate fudge brownie or rhubarb and apple crumble."
