Shaun Ryder is looking for the right person to play him in a TV biopic about his life.
The Happy Mondays frontman's autobiography 'Twisting My Melon' is to be serialised by ITV, and the singer is hoping to find the perfect star to portray him throughout his younger life - when he was addicted to crack cocaine and heroin.
He told The Sun newspaper: "We've got a meeting in a couple of weeks where we start to look at the actors who could play me."
'Downton Abbey' actor Rob James-Collier and former 'Shameless' star Elliot Tittensor have both been linked to the part, while Soldier Soldier's Danny Cunningham is also thought to be in line for the role as he played Shaun in the 2002 film '24 Hour Party People'.
The TV drama is expected to feature several of the singer's controversial moments including the time he was sent to Barbados on a mission to get clean from heroin but found himself addicted to crack cocaine after just 48 hours on the island.
In 2010, Shaun was second in 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' and is now a professional UFO hunter, which has seen him pen a new book, 'What Planet Am I On'.
