Shaun Ryder has taken a cheeky swipe at 'Top Gear'.
The 53-year-old singer believes his appearance on Paddy McGuinness' new car show 'Drive of my Life' stamps all over Chris Evans' recent takeover of the revamped motoring programme, which will return to screens this month, following the shock departure of axed host Jeremy Clarkson.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the 61st Ivor Novello Awards, which was held on Thursday (19.05.16) at London's Grosvenor House Hotel, The Happy Mondays' singer joked: "It's Paddy show where we test cars and blast them off. F**k 'Top Gear', f**k Chris, f**k that **** who went to private school and that other *** Clarkson who got sacked from the BBC, I'll knock him on his ass! No I'm joking Clarkson is great, I watch him, I love him Clarkson is great."
Shaun is just one of the celebrities due to appear on the 'Take Me Out' host's brand new motoring TV show, which reunites a well-known face with three of their most beloved cars from their youth - taking them on a nostalgic trip down memory lane and the stories that shaped their life.
He said of his decision to take part: "I've got lots of TV shows coming up, otherwise how do you sell records to 16 and 17 year old kids?
"There's a great show with me and Paddy McGuinness driving around in Smart cars, one of the first cars I ever had was a yellow Escort Mark II which was called the egg, we get to drive that dead fast plus two other cars."
'Drive of My Life' will hit screens in the autumn.
