The 25-year-old civil servant left the show after Danny picked Lucinda and AJ chose Hugo during a dramatic recoupling.
Explaining her decision, AJ said: "He's gorgeous, since coming into the villa he's made me feel so comfortable.
"I want to explore where we could go as a couple and get to know him a bit more. So the boy I would like to couple up with is Hugo."
Danny then stepped forward to explain his own choice.
He said: "She's just stunning, I could see myself having a future with her.
"The girl I'd like to couple up with is Lucinda."
After AJ and Danny made their choices known, the rest of the couples decided to remain together, meaning Sharon was left on her own.
She subsequently said: "We all took the plunge when we came here - love was never guaranteed but it never will be."
Hugo, meanwhile, admitted to AJ that he was shocked by the results of the recoupling.
He asked: "Why me? I did not see that coming, I thought it was going to be Liam."
In response, AJ described Hugo as "gorgeous" and confessed to feeling comfortable around him.
AJ told him: "You are the one I feel most comfortable with. You are so gorgeous."
