Shane Filan has backed Louis Walsh's decision to quit 'The X Factor'.
The former Westlife frontman - who has known the music mogul for 15 years - believes his band manager has made the right decision to bow out of the ITV talent show after 10 years on the judging panel because he'll be leaving on a high note.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Shane said: "Louis always does things 100 per cent. He's had 10 years on the panel, which is, I think, the longest judge ever on any panel.
"It's a pretty great run to have. And he just said, 'I'd like to go out at the top.' "
Louis was responsible for helping manage Boyzone and Westlife to success in the 1990s and is now teaming up with the 34-year-old singer to launch a new group.
Shane said: "He's held auditions already. He'll always say, 'Managing is my day job. That's what I love to do.' "
Louis will appear alongside Sharon Osbourne, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger on this year's judging panel, but rumours have emerged suggesting that the other three stars will follow in his footsteps and quit the programme after this series.
