Though it’s extremely short and really doesn’t give away a single thing about the third upcoming season of Broadchurch, a brand new 10 second teaser trailer for the show has been revealed by US broadcaster BBC America, which you can watch above.
The clip follows the release of a promotional picture, showcasing Olivia Colman and David Tennant front-and-centre as their characters Ellie Miller and Alec Hardy respectively. Reunited for what will be their last hoorah, Julie Hesmondhalgh can also be seen in the new picture, with the actress joining the show for the first time in a role that not much has been said about.
Meanwhile, Lenny Henry and Sunetra Sarker have also joined the series in leading roles, whilst Charlie Higson, Georgina Campbell, Sarah Parish, Mark Bazeley and Roy Hudd will also appear in recurring roles.
Creator Chris Chibnall has already revealed that whilst the second season of the show focused on the trial of Joe Miller, a brand new crime will be explored in the series’ final chapter.
Speaking to Digital Spy, actor Arthur Darvill who is to return to his role in the show said: “This series, I think, is just going to be brilliant. I can’t tell you too much about it, but the subject matter of it is really heavy.
“I loved the second series of Broadchurch – I think it was really necessary to tell that part of the story – but I think this series has more of the feel of the first series.”
Broadchurch has no official broadcast just yet, but is expected to air in early 2017.
