DC fans got their first glimpse of The CW's television version of Superman this week, when a picture of Tyler Hoechlin in costume for the first time was released.
Standing alongside Melissa Benoist as Supergirl's titular character, the costume Hoechlin wears embraces Superman's alien roots and includes the classic symbol.
The suit's texture seems very similar to Supergirl's own, but it would still be fair to say that designer Kiersten Ronning has delivered something the fans weren't expecting with the outfit.
Of course this is just the first step in establishing a new version of Superman for the small screen and The CW have a big task in front of them in order to get fans on their side. Despite that, they've done so well in the past with the Green Arrow, The Flash and so many other big superhero names that many have full faith in them.
Supergirl season 2 premieres on Monday, October 10 in the US on The CW.
