Scarlett Moffatt will "always find" different conspiracy theories to discuss.
The 31-year-old TV star - who has been dating police officer Scott Dobinson since 2019 - has always been "inquisitive" and has been exploring weird and wonderful ideas on BBC Sounds podcast 'Scarlett Moffatt Wants to Believe' alongside her boyfriend since early on in lockdown.
And Scarlett is amazed that she has been able to find more than one hundred topics over five series.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Since I was a kid, my dad has always encouraged me to question things. I think that is why I’m so inquisitive. I’ve always asked questions about aliens and all that sort of stuff.
"At the very beginning of lockdown, I was thinking ‘Oh I’m gonna be bored.’ Remember when we thought we were gonna be in the house for a month? And I was like ‘Oh that’s far too long!’ so I thought ‘I know! I’ll do what everyone else is doing and make a podcast!’ and the only other person I could do it with was the person I was living with, which is my boyfriend.
"It was honestly just for people to listen to so they had something to talk about other than the pandemic but now we’re on our fifth series, which is amazing. We never, ever thought it would go this far. But we’re still finding stuff to talk about!"
The former 'Gogglebox' star teased that an upcoming episode of the series will explore the neurological trait of synaesthesia - which is the alleged ability to "taste music" - and that former 'This Morning' presenter Richard Madeley will also make an appearance on the series.
She added: "I think we’ve done a hundred odd episodes and the other day we did this one on – I think it’s called synaesthesia – it’s basically a group of people who can taste music and different songs taste like different things.
"Like, ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by the Beatles – to some people – tastes like waffles and strawberries! We always find stuff to talk about. Always! We’ve got Richard Madeley coming on for our new series and I feel like he has loads of theories so I’m gonna have a chat with him and say ‘What can we talk about Richard?’ We need to believe in the weird and wonderful, it makes life more interesting!"
Meanwhile, the 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here' winner revealed that she had her own brush with paranormal activity when she starred in the title role of 'Cinderella' at Sunderland Empire and was in the dressing room once used by late 'Carry On' legend Sid James, who suffered a fatal heart attack on stage at the North East theatre back in 1976.
She said: "When I did panto at Sunderland Empire, I was in the dressing room of Sid James and the taps would sometimes drip, which I thought was dodgy plumbing. But apparently, it was the ghost of Sid! I’d like to think it was the ghost of him – it sounds better than a leaky pipe!"
'Scarlett Moffatt Wants to Believe' is available to stream on BBC Sounds.
