Scarlett Moffatt was followed by a stranger at a train station, leaving her terrified.
The 31-year-old TV star had "naively" alerted her 2.2 million Instagram followers that she was on a train to London, and she was shocked to find a man waiting for her at King's Cross who wanted to "take her home with him".
Speaking in a video posted to Instagram after the incident, she said: "I'm gonna do this video and not for attention or anything like that but to make sure others are aware of the danger of letting people know where you are. I stupidly, naively, posted on Instagram saying 'off to London on the train'. And when I got into King's Cross station there was a guy there… this guy came at me saying, 'Scarlett I've been waiting for you, are you coming home with me?'. I said 'No thank you' but he said 'Scarlett, Scarlett, are you coming home with me? I'm taking you home with me.' "
The former 'Gogglebox' star went on to explain that the incident was noticed by two members of LNER staff at the railway station - who she named as Neil and Danny - and thanked them for escorting her safely to her hotel.
She has now urged her followers to be "careful" what they post online.
Scarlett said: "Neil and Danny, I don't know what I would have done without you. I've never even thought of this before, please be careful what you're posting."
The star - who has been dating police officer Scott Dobinson since 2019 - then posted a photo of herself and her "little angels" from LNER on social media.
Scarlett waited until she had left the capital so as not to alert anyone to her whereabouts, and once again begged fans to be "careful" with their private information.
She wrote: "Here's my little angels from yesterday. @lner thanks for all your lovely messages and I hope it's a reminder to not post locations in real-time and on social media and be really careful with giving private information away online."
