The former 'Gogglebox' star has been on the receiving end of some "horrific" trolling in the past, which led her to reaching out to the charity - which provides emotional support to anyone in emotional distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide - and she admitted "99 per cent of the time" she DMs one of her haters they apologise for their comments and say they will call the helpline.
She said: "I've never been in a place where I've wanted to project that much hate onto someone.
"So whenever I do get trolled really badly I send them a private message and I'll give them the number for Samaritans.
"I'll say, 'Are you OK? Call this number if you need help.'
"And I would say 99 per cent of the time, they apologise and say, 'Yeah, I will.' "
The 'Love Bites' presenter has recalled receiving horrible abuse on social media, which left her feeling "exhausted all the time".
She said: "I remember getting really horrific trolling, people saying, 'You should just go and kill yourself', 'I shouldn't have to look at you on my TV'.
"I just felt exhausted all the time, like exhausted with my own thoughts.
"I just spent so much time in bed."
The 30-year-old star ended up calling the Samaritans - who she is now an ambassador for - and she now "loves life" and feels like she is "care-free" and 18 again.
Speaking to 'BBC Breakfast' during Mental Health Awareness Week 2021, she added: "This is going to sound really dramatic, but you do feel like it's just ... like hope. That's what it sounded like.
"Just hearing somebody say, 'Hello, Samaritans. What's wrong?'
"This isn't 'woe is me'. I felt really sad, I spoke to Samaritans, I got help from my GP and now I'm in such a good place with my little dog, my boyfriend and my friends and family. I just love life."
