Rudy Reyes, 50, has been named as the new Chief Instructor on the Channel 4 show - which dropped Ant over his "personal conduct" - and former US Navy SEAL Remi Adeleke has joined the programme as a new DS (Directing Staff) alongside existing stars Foxy (Jason Fox) and Billy (Mark Billingham).

Rudy - who was a team leader for over 50 patrols behind enemy lines - said: "To be part of 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' - the hardest selection course on television - is one the greatest privileges of my life.

"And to be named Chief Instructor is a huge honour - made even more rewarding working alongside Billy, Foxy and Remi - heroes on and off screen."

Remi - who joined the Navy in 2002 and later the elite Navy SEAL programme, serving for 13 years on active duty - added: "Since I departed from the military in 2016 my main focus in life has been to inspire, motivate and educate people - whether through writing, speaking or visual storytelling.

"Therefore, I am very grateful to the 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' team - especially my SOF brothers Billy, Foxy, Rudy - for allowing me to be a part of this unique, inspirational and transformative experience.

"And through this amazing show, I’m looking forward to playing a role in changing the lives of many “recruits” and viewers around the world."

Foxy is delighted to have the US pair onboard.

He said: "Having worked closely with our US brothers in the past it’s great to be back with them delivering next level brutality on this new selection course, in the most savage of environments.

"Definitely the spiciest one yet ... hoorah ... as my American Marine brothers would say."

Billy added: "20-plus years of collaboration, from a young paratrooper working with an 82nd Airborne, to smashing targets side by side with Delta Force.

"It’s great to reconnect our bond across the pond."

In March, Channel 4 announced Ant had been dropped from the show.

A spokesperson said in a statement: "Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of 'SAS: Who Dares Wins'.

"Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again."

Ant later responded, blasting Channel 4 as "reckless and desperate".

He said: "Channel 4 and Minnow Films' statement is very reckless and desperate. That's the word - it's desperate."

Ant also said: "I have been fighting for the show to be as close and as authentic to the selection process as possible. The viewers deserve it, the fans deserve it and the recruits too. They sign up to the show for an experience, it is often life changing and to try and fake that doesn’t feel right.

"I always want to stay as true to myself as possible and what the show should be. I am really disappointed with the way that this has been handled, after working with them for five years I would have expected better."

The seventh series of 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' and the fourth series of 'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins' will air on Channel 4 in 2022.
