Sarah Jayne Dunn asked her 'Hollyoaks' co-stars for autographs when she first joined the soap.
The 'Oaks' legend was initially only contracted for two episodes as Mandy Richardson in 1996, so she made sure her fellow stars signed their cast cards when she departed the village - only to have now amassed more than 13 years, on and off, in the village.
She said: "When I got the job, it was for two episodes.
"I was like, 'Two is amazing. I’m going to be on TV.' I got everyone to sign their cast cards when I was leaving."
The 39-year-old star was surprised when more scripts landed at her feet a week after she had secured the signatures.
She is quoted by The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column as saying: "A week later more scripts arrived, then I was there for 10 years. Madness."
Sarah initially starred in the soap from 1996 to 2006, before returning again in 2007 and 2008, and then again between 2010 and 2011.
She was back again in 2013, before returning permanently in 2017.
And Sarah recently admitted she wishes her former co-star Ali Bastian - who played Becca Dean from 2001 to 2007 - could come back to the show, despite her character being killed off.
Asked which character she'd bring back into the fold if she had the power, she said: "It would have to be Becca, who was played by Ali Bastian.
"She was one of Mandy's best friends and I loved their relationship.
"It'd be nice to explore that again but I can't because she's dead."
