Sara Cox will be featuring in an episode of ‘Death in Paradise’.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter is “really excited” to provide the voice over talent in the police procedural's first ever Christmas special - which will air on BBC One on 26 December at 7.30pm - set on the fictional Caribbean island.
The 47-year-old television personality told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: “My son and I are big fans so I was really excited to be asked to play a little part in their first-ever Christmas special.
“I will be watching on Boxing Day, soaking up the Saint Marie sunshine. And, of course, waiting for news on my Bafta nomination.”
Fan favourites will also be returning to the 90 minute festive edition, such Danny John-Jules, who will be reprising his role as Officer Dwayne Myers. Previous stars of the show include Ardal O’Hanlon, Ben Miller and Kris Marshall.
Ralf Little, who has played DI Neville Parker since January, told the same outlet about how filming the episode did not feel very “Christmassy” due to the Guadalupe summer heat.
The 41-year-old actor : “It will be good fun. We shot it a while back. It didn’t feel very Chrismassy because we made in like, July.”
'The Royle Family’ star gave more insight to HELLO! magazine, labelling it a “Death in Paradise classic”.
The ‘Inside No.9’ star said: "It's brilliant, it's a 'Death in Paradise' classic really. Someone is found dead, and we have to get to the bottom of it - but there are added dimensions, we have more time for character development and interplay between ourselves … We have time for it to be more layered, and you feel the consequences of the story.”
The show’s 11th season - with guest stars confirmed including Tamzin Outhwaite, Nicholas Bailey, Jason Done and Ben Onwukwe - will begin in early 2021.
