Sam Robertson has enjoyed the anonymity of wearing a face mask in public.
The 'Coronation Street' actor, who plays Adam Barlow on the ITV soap, admitted it has been "quite nice" to not be recognised while walking around with the face covering on after finding it "impossible" to go one hour out of the house without being spotted.
But he admitted cobbles stars soon "get used to" being recognised up and down the nation.
He said: "I think this job can be quite overwhelming because you really can't escape.
"If you're in the UK and you go out for a coffee or lunch or breakfast or whatever, it's almost impossible to go one hour out of the house without someone approaching you.
"Which is fine, you get used to it over time. But at first, when I came back [to 'Corrie'] in 2016, the first 18 months or so I found it ... I was like, 'Wow.'
"When I was in the show in the 2000s camera phones weren't as common as they are now.
"With these masks coming in this year it's actually been quite a nice thing for me.
"I can walk around and wear my mask all day and no one knows who I am."
However, Sam admitted being spotted by fans of the ITV soap is "part of the job".
He added: "But you know what, if the show is going well and I'm enjoying working on it and I'm really proud to be part of the show then it's part of the job."
