'Flash Gordon' star Sam J. Jones has busted his shoulder during training for The Jump, and so had to pull out of the competition.
The 59-year-old actor has been ruled out of the winter sports reality TV show - based in Austria - on medical grounds after he celebrated a successful ski jump and pulled his arm out of place.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: "It's called 'celebrating a little bit too early'.
"I've been preaching to everyone that we really have to listen to our instructors. I was so shocked when I landed that I said, 'He's right, it works', and I went, 'Yeah!' and raised my arms. So after completing the run I fell over and hurt my arm."
Channel 4 have replaced Sam with Five member Ritchie Neville, who had been training as a reserve in case of injury.
Despite being upset about having to withdraw from the skiing competition, Sam admits he's got some memories from training that will stay with him for life.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he explained: "I am upset with myself for injuring my shoulder so that I will not be able to compete. The time on the show is one of the most mentally and physically challenging ever, but also the most memorable I have ever experienced with fellow team-mates.
"And that's exactly how we interacted with one another, as opposed to mean-spirited competitors."
Meanwhile, Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave, singer Sinitta, former 'The Only Way is Essex' star Amy Childs and ex-cricket ace Darren Gough have also been taking to the slopes for the show.
'The Jump' - which is being hosted by Davina McCall - kicks off on January 26.
