Sam Bailey got the most votes for eight of The X Factor live shows.
Newly-released figures show the 36-year-old prison officer topped the public vote for eight out of 11 live performances before being crowned the winner on Sunday night's (15.12.13) final at Wembley Arena in north London.
The competition had been a tight race between Sam and eventual runner-up Nicholas McDonald, with the 17-year-old star taking a strong lead in the first two weeks with more than 20 per cent of the Sunday night vote, before returning to the top of the leader board in week six with 31.4 per cent.
However, Sam was tough to beat, as not only did she top the voting figures in week three, four and five, she was at the summit from week seven up until the final.
Luke Friend drastically increased in popularity with the public, going from ninth place in the first week to finish third in the final.
Rough Copy were also favourable gaining steady votes until their elimination in week nine, while Tamera Foster - who finished in fifth place - wavered in popularity each week.
Meanwhile, Sam has topped the UK iTunes chart with her winner's single 'Skyscraper' by Demi Lovato, and the CD version is set to hit stores on Wednesday (18.12.13).
Profits from the track will be going to the Together For Short Lives charity.
