Sally Dynevor is "very proud" of her daughter Phoebe's leading role.
The 'Coronation Street' star's offspring is taking centre stage in Netflix's upcoming period drama 'Bridgerton' alongside Dame Julie Andrews and 'Derry Girls' actress Nicola Coughlan.
Sally told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "I just want to say I'm very proud of Phoebe and as a family, we are so excited to see ‘Bridgerton’ on Christmas Day."
The eight-part series - which will launch on December 25 - is based on Julia Quinn's novels of the same name and will be narrated by Julie.
Phoebe, 25, stars as daughter Daphne trying to find a suitor in the drama focused on a rich family in England in the 1800s.
However, things take a troublesome turn when Daphne seems to fall for Simon Basset (Rege-Jean Page), who happens to be the 10th Duke of Hastings.
In the past, Phoebe – who grew up wanting to follow in her mum’s footsteps and pursue a career in acting - has also appeared in the likes of 'Waterloo Road', 'Snatch', 'Dickensian' and 'Younger'.
Sally - who has played Sally Metcalfe on the cobbles since 1986 - admitted her own mother-in-law convinced her to encourage her daughter to follow her passion for performing.
Adding that she was “more nervous” seeing her child on screen that she is watching herself, the ‘Corrie’ star explained: "My mother-in-law Shirley said to me, 'You mustn't dissuade her. Actors are the most wonderful people in the world and the most fun.'
"I thought, 'She's absolutely right'. And even if it's very difficult, she's going to have a great time.
"I was probably more nervous watching her in something than I'd ever been for me, but she's doing okay."
