Sally Carman almost "curtsied" the first time she met Barbara Knox.
The 'Coronation Street' star - who has played Abi Franklin on the cobbles since 2017 - opened up on her reaction to meeting soap legends, including the Rita Sullivan actress, who she ended up "waving off" after a chat.
Appearing on ITV's 'This Morning' on Wednesday (16.09.20), she said: "Oh my goodness, Queen Rita!
"The first time I met Barbara Knox - my goodness. You have little chats, she's so gracious and lovely, just giving you a little pep talk.
"It was all greatly appreciated - but when she walked off to the dressing room, I very nearly curtsied, I am not joking! I just waved her off."
The 39-year-old actress has been delighted with her spell on 'Corrie' so far, and she feels fortunate to have a well rounded character who viewers have been able to get to know.
She explained: "I do! A lot of the time on certain shows, the character, you watch them and think, 'You wouldn't do that.'
"But there's nothing Abi wouldn't do because she's such an extremist. Whether she's saving the day or ruining the day, it's all believable! I'm just over the moon with it."
Sally's 'Corrie' career also introduced her to fiance Joe Duttine (Tim Metcalfe), and he popped the question during lockdown after they met on set.
However, she has once again rubbished the idea of them getting together on screen, as she explained how Abi would "never" do that to Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor).
She added: "Abi would never put a foot wrong when it comes to Sal.
"She's like a mother, a sister, a daughter, a best friend, all wrapped into one. There's just no way, she couldn't do that. She wouldn't do that!"
