The 30-year-old TV presenter - who won Celebrity Big Brother's 11th series in 2013 and hosted 'Big Brother's Bit on the Side' from 2013 to 2018 - is still disappointed by Channel 5's decision to cancel the programme, and he has an idea for its big comeback.

Taking to social media on Thursday (18.07.19), he tweeted: "Today is @bigbrotheruk 19th birthday.

"Let's hope for it's 20th he's back and bigger than ever. Happy Birthday #BBUK (sic)"

The reality show - which first aired on Channel 4 in 2000 - was axed last year, and Rylan previously insisted he will not rest until the civilian or celebrity version is back on air.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I'm adamant 'Big Brother' will return, when and where I don't know but I won't rest until it does. I think 'Celebrity Big Brother' is one of the most important shows on TV because we get to see people for who they really, really are.

"You've only got to look at the events over the last seven years, and how it has changed the perception of people who are genuinely really nice and people who actually aren't."

Meanwhile, back in January 'Big Brother' narrator Marcus Bentley shared a throwback video from the recording studio and gave a big indication that the show could return.

He captioned the video at the time: "Narrating Big Brother - We will be back! #bigbrotheruk #voiceovers #voiceover (sic)"

Channel 5 confirmed 'Big Brother' and 'Celebrity Big Brother' had been axed in September last year.

They said in a statement: "The forthcoming series of Big Brother will be the last - of either celebrity or civilian versions - on Channel 5. We'd like to thank Endemol and all of the production team who have worked tirelessly to make the show a success.

"We'd also like to thank our brilliant presenters - Emma [Willis] on 'Big Brother' and Rylan from 'Bit on the Side' - for their consummate professionalism, Marcus, the voice of 'Big Brother' and all of the housemates who have created so many memorable moments."
