Ryan Thomas has reportedly been declared bankrupt.
'Coronation Street' star Ryan Thomas - who plays Jason Grimshaw in the soap - has reportedly been declared bankrupt after a dispute over unpaid taxes.
The 'Coronation Street' star earns £90,000 a year but it is now said he is having serious financial problems. According to reports in the Daily Mirror newspaper, the 29-year-old actor's troubles came after a dispute over unpaid taxes.
A petition by HM Revenue and Customs saw him declared bankrupt last week but he has not been available to comment.
It will be a blow to Ryan - first debuted on the soap 13 years ago - who revealed earlier this year he is dedicating himself to his four-year-old daughter Scarlett.
He shares custody of his child with his former co-star Tina O'Brien, and the couple split in 2009 after he fell out of love with his ex-girlfriend.
She previously said: "He said he didn't do it for him anymore. Those were his words ... He was keen to go out a lot."
Ryan - recently signed a new one year contract with the soap - has also claimed he doesn't want any more children.
He has explained: "I don't want anyone to take Scarlett's place."
