Ryan Prescott has admitted his 'Coronation Street' character has started "playing into [his] everyday life".
The soap star - who has portrayed Ryan Connor on the cobbles since 2018 - revealed he sees some of his own traits in his on-screen alter ego, and that feeling has only increased over the years.
He told Inside Soap magazine: "[Am I anything like Ryan?] In some ways, yes. The more I play him, the more I feel him playing into my everyday life, which is weird!
"I see that kind of ignorant innocence in myself. I spent my 20s telling myself how much I knew and understood about life, but my 30s are now revealing how little I actually know!
"Ryan thinks too much, and I definitely do too, so we're similar in those ways."
And while his character has his moments, Ryan still thinks they'd be friends in real life.
He added: "I think I would, because he has this half-witted kind of charm.
"He has a good heart, and that's always something that entices me as far as friendship is concerned Everything else can be worked out.
"Plus he likes a party, and I don't mind putting my dancing shoes on once in a while!"
Things are looking rough for his 'Corrie' alter ego, and the actor admitted he doesn't see much hope for a turnaround.
He said: "I doesn't look like it, I tell you! He has no family, no home, his DJing is going nowhere, so I don't know if there's any light on the horizon for him.
"I can say that there's a brief moment between him and a family member that gives him a glimmer of hope - although that's about it!"
