Ryan Murphy has confirmed the title of his upcoming series, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story in a post on Instagram, which shows Darren Criss and Max Greenfield in character and on the set of the show. You can check out the image below:
Despite already being teased, the season will be the third in the American Crime Story series, with a second season focusing on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina set to be released at some point in 2018.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace will of course focus on everything it says on the tin, tracing the events that led up to the murder of the famed designer, and delving into everything that happened following his death.
Edgar Ramirez will be starring as Versace, whilst Darren Criss (pictured above) will be taking on the role of serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Penelope Cruz steps into the role of Donatella Versace, with Ricky Martin playing Versace’s partner, Antonio D’Amico and Max Greenfield (also pictured above) as Gabriel.
No further details have been given from Murphy about exactly what will happen in the third season, as the executive producer likes to keep his cards close to his chest.
American Crime Story: Katrina and American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace will both hit screens in 2018.
