Ruth Langsford is the "male" in her marriage to Eamonn Holmes.
The 'This Morning' presenters - who have been together for 17 years and married for three - admit they don't have a typical relationship because the blonde beauty doesn't get blown away by romance and it's often Eamonn pulling out all of the stops.
Ruth explained: "He's much more romantic and sentimental than me and says we should have regular date nights and put things in the diary. But I get a bit lazy about it, even though I know he's right because it's during those times that you reconnect as husband and wife."
Eamonn, 53, often surprises his spouse with romantic gestures but says his thoughtfulness doesn't always get the reaction he expects.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, he said: "She's very independent and always has lots of things going on. In some ways, she assumes the male role in our relationship because I'm the more caring, thoughtful soul who tries to nurture the personal side of us with these little touches.
"Sometimes I'll arrange a lovely surprise - theatre tickets, for example - and Ruth's first response will be, 'Why didn't you check with me first?' Then I'll feel hurt, her conscience will be pricked and she'll realise she has been neglecting me and shower me with attention."
